The Birds of Prey movie is about to go before the cameras for scheduled reshoots, and it seems that action will be a large portion of that.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Friday that John Wick director Chat Stahelski is coming on board Birds of Prey to assist with action reshoots. He will be working on action and 2nd unit photography while Cathy Yan works on the main unit. Reportedly Stahelski will be uncredited for his work and will be dealing with designing new action scenes for the film.
This is not a major change in all actuality as it has been Stahelski’s company, 87 Eleven, that has been doing all of the stunt work since principal photography. This is simply an instance of bringing in one of the biggest names in the action business to add some spices to a meal essentially.
While reshoots typically fill people with dread, they are also a part of the natural process of making any big-budget film. At this stage, we would say there is nothing to worry about. The test audiences have reportedly enjoyed the movie, so not it’s time to just touch it up.
Meanwhile, we’ll just keep hoping for some form of a teaser trailer to finally be released. Right now, a lot of chatter has it being attached to Joker which will hit theaters in Oct.
The Birds of Prey movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
