Syfy is saying good-bye to Krypton, and telling the Main Man they don’t want his kind around these parts.
It was announced on Friday that Syfy was canceling Krypton. The Superman prequel series ended its second season this week on Wednesday. With the primary series being canceled, the spinoff Lobo series has also been killed off and won’t be moving forward.
According to Deadline, Warner Horizon Scripted Television is shopping the series around. DC Universe already streams Krypton and would be a logical home for the series. The other potential option is HBO Max which is on the hunt right now for original content.
Part of the cancelation potentially came from the fact Syfy merely licensed Krypton and didn’t have a major stake in its production. This was part of the reason that the cable network canceled Expanse which was picked up by Amazon and has already been renewed for a second season at its new home.
With Krypton having such deep DC roots, and Warner Bros. having multiple outlets in need of content, don’t be too surprised if the home of Kal-El finds a home for more new episodes.
