Andy Muschietti is out on the publicity circuit for IT Chapter Two, but, of course, the topic of The Flash movie has to come up as well.
Speaking with Fandango, Muschietti was asked if The Flash was his next project, and his reply was a simple, “Yup.” This is a turn of events since the last report in July indicated he was still in talks, so it appears things may have been finalized.
Muschietti was then asked if he planned on any horror elements for the film, but it appears not. “An element of horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it.” He went on to add, “The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”
This marks the latest change in directors for the project. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have been attached as directors since Jan. 2018, and it even looked like the film might move forward this year, but then more delays were rumored to have happened.
Muschietti and Hodson are both hot creators with Warner Bros. right now, so the two of them possibly being attached is definitely a good sign that this film may finally move forward.
