According to a new report, there’s a reason that so many villains have been rumored for Matt Reeves‘ The Batman. There’s a conspiracy in Gotham City, and everyone is a suspect.
According to well-known scooper Daniel Richtman, when Robert Pattinson suits up as Batman, he will be trying to get to the bottom of a case revolving around strange murders. As the caped crusader digs deeper into the mystery it will send him to various villains around the city, and each will give him a piece of info that sends him to the next. Currently, the villains are set to be Penguin, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Catwoman, Firefly, and Two-Face.
As with any rumor this far ahead, it should be taken with some suspicion for the time being. It does, however, fit in with a lot of what we have heard such as Reeves wanting to do more of a noir detective story. It also matches up with the members of the Rogues Gallery that we’ve heard are due to appear. And certainly not least, Richtman has a good track record.
While The Batman is certainly starting to come together, there is still a long road ahead of it. Filming is expected to begin this winter in the U.K., and that is eons away in Hollywood production time. Things can change at any time, but this seems like a logical conclusion of the numerous rumors we’ve heard. We’ll just have to wait and see.
The Batman will hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
