Forget those rumors, The Suicide Squad has already begun filming.

There had been rumors for some time now that The Suicide Squad would begin filming on Sept. 23, but it seems those were wrong. A fan on Instagram asked James Gunn to confirm that filming would begin on Monday, but he instead said they were shooting “today” as in Friday, Sept. 20.

Currently, there is no indication if this was day one, but all we know is that cameras are indeed rolling.

Now begins the hunt for any clues as to which roles each cast member is playing. While Gunn has announced the cast, he then followed that up with some of the rumored roles being incorrect. Perhaps we’ll learn more once filming ventures outside, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

At this stage, about the only thing that we can feel confirmed on is the returning actors: Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Joel Kinnaman (Flag). Beyond those four, it’s not a guessing game of which rumored characters were even correct and which weren’t.

The Suicide Squad will hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
