UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter confirms he’s in talks, but it is for the Penguin or the Riddler. No decision has been made on which role he would take as of yet. And the talks are still considered to be early as he has had an offer for over a month.
Deadline reported on Monday that Jonah Hill (Superbad) is in talks for a role in The Batman.
No role was mentioned in connection with the talks, but various sources are saying as The Penguin, while others are saying possibly as The Riddler. Only time will tell is Hill signs, and as who it may be as.
This rumor followed within minutes of the news of Jeffrey Wright being cast as Commissioner Gordon. This would seem to indicate that things are picking up on the production at long last.
Filming is rumored to begin in January in the U.K., so it makes sense that casting is finally happening. We’ll just have to wait to see as Reeves fills out the cast. With a rumored six villains in the film, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Things seem to be finally moving, and The Batman is due to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
