It seems that a major story point from the Flash comics may be making its way to Central City in season 6 of The Flash.
A new set photo has surfaced from The Flash on Twitter courtesy of YVR Shoots. It would seem that Barry (Grant Gustin) may be dealing with the first influences of the Negative Speed Force that will send him towards being the Negative Flash.
What is happening to #TheFlash?
Is he turning into Negative Flash?

Due to shadows in the photo, it’s difficult to tell everything that’s happening, but if you look at the fingertips of his right hand, it would appear his costume is turning black.
Nothing has officially been announced by the production team or The CW as of yet about the inclusion of Negative Flash as a threat in the series, so do keep that in mind. But to look at the costume from comics, it’s a pretty easy assumption to make.
It’s unknown which episode of the season this scene is for, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for it. We believe they are working on either episode 6 or 7, but production is a bit off this year due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. Filming is happening out of order on some aspects of the season.
In the comics, the Negative Speed Force was created by Eobard Thawne. It infected any speedster that came in contact with it causing them to spread it further. It also eats away at the regular Speed Force like a form of cancer.
We’ll have to wait and see what this is to be sure, but we won’t be too surprised if this is the turn things are taking.
The Flash season 6 will debut on The CW on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
