As the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover has taken shape over at The CW, one thing we hadn’t heard much about was Harbinger. The character played a major part in the 1980s comic, but we hadn’t heard anything really about if she would be included in the TV version, or who might play her.
The CW had now revealed that long-time Arrow actress Audrey Marie Anderson (Lyla Michaels) will be pulling double duty in the crossover and will be Harbinger. The network also released an image of her in costume.
“Lyla Michaels as Harbinger is a key component of the original Crisis on Infinite Earths that we were determined to honor in our crossover,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told ComicBook.com. “What makes this particularly satisfying for us is that we introduced Lyla Michaels and her Harbinger codename all the way back in Arrow Season 1.”
In the comics, Harbringer was saved by the Monitor as a child. After he gave her powers of her own, she would be the one to call the heroes together to dace the coming crisis of the Anti-Monitor.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will be split over the winter break. Supergirl will kick things off on Dec. 8, Batwoman will follow on Dec 9, and The Flash will air on Dec. 10.
Things will then pick back up on Jan. 14 with Arrow, and will wrap up with Legends of Tomorrow on the same night.
