It appears that Jonah Hill has dropped out of the running for any of the roles in The Batman.

According to sources speaking with Variety, when the news first broke that Hill was in talks, it was very early stages. At the time it was reported that the talks were open to him playing either Penguin or Riddler, but that he was looking for a $10 million dollar payday for the film.

This leaves Matt Reeves with two more roles on his plate to be filled prior to the start of filming. With reports that the film will feature six villains, that’s a lot of costumes to fill, and Zoe Kravitz is the only one officially on board so far.

It is highly unlikely that this puts Reeves back at square one on either of these characters. There are sure to have been other actors in consideration and now Reeves will just pivot to them. Hopefully we’ll hear something more official in the not too distant future.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
