The Suicide Squad heads to prison in new set photos

Filming is underway on The Suicide Squad, and it appears that the team is going to spending some time behind bars.

New set photos have surfaced of John Cena and Idris Elba in prison uniforms. Still no clues here as to who they are playing, but the current prevailing rumors are Cena as Peacemaker and Elba as Vigilante, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Also pictured is Viola Davis looking very much to be in full Amanda Waller mode.

According to The Augusta Chronicle, the filming is taking place at the Joint Law Enforcement Center in Richmond County, Georgia. The former jail has been closed since 2014, making it the perfect place to be able to film prison scenes in the state.

One would imagine that this will just once again be Belle Reve. Some quick CGI will easily make it look like it’s in the Louisiana bayou.

Filming recently began on The Suicide Squad, and it will hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
