Joker hits more milestones at the box office

Joker didn’t win the box office for a third this weekend, but it has ticked some more boxes in its run.

Domestically, Joker took in $29 million to bring its total in the U.S. to $247.22 million. This now places it ahead of Justice League which took in $229.02 million domestically.

At the foreign box office, Joker took in $77.8 million for a new foreign total of $490.3 million. This brings its global total to $737.5 million meaning that it has surpassed Justice League worldwide which took in $657.92 million. While it hasn’t beaten Man of Steel for its U.S. total yet – which was $291.04 million – it has beaten its worldwide total of $668.04 million.

Sometime this week it will surpass Suicide Squad‘s global total of $746.84 million. From there it will have an uphill battle to catch Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with its global total of $873.63 million.

One has to wonder if Warner Bros. is flipping through a catalog of Batman’s Rogues Gallery to figure out who could be the next villain to get a solo film.
