Joker inches closer to $1 billion in its sixth weekend

Joker had another great weekend around the world as it inches to an ever higher gross.

For its sixth weekend, Joker took in $20.3 million at the foreign box office to bring its foreign total up to $671.2 million. Domestically it landed in sixth place for the weekend and took in $9.2 million to bring its North American total to $313.49 million. This brings the grand total up to $984.7 million off of an estimated budget of $55 to $70 million.

The top two spots this weekend went to Midway with $17.5 million, and Doctor Sleep with$14.1 million. There are multiple wide releases this week – Charlie’s Angels, All Rise, Ford v. Ferrari, and The Good Liar – so Joker will slip further down the charts.

That being said, with the way it’s tracking, $1 billion does seem to be locked barring some complete disaster. It will more than likely get flirtingly close by the end of the end of the week, but it will take the weekend box office to push it over the top.
