It seems that two of cinematographer Lawrence Sher’s worlds are about to collide. Sher worked on Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming Jungle Cruise for Disney, and he worked on the DC-inspired Joker. Now he’s going to work with Johnson again and it will be under the DC banner as they will be on Black Adam.
Johnson confirmed the news on Saturday via social media.
Sher has had a varied career working on everything from the Andy Barker, P.I. TV series to Godzilla: King of the Monsters. To DC fans he will best known for his work on Joker which has been receiving pretty universal love, especially for the way it was shot.
The Black Adam release date was announced this week and it will be hitting theaters on Dec. 22, 2021. Production is set to begin in July 2020 on the long-gestating project. It’s nice to see that things do finally seem to be moving at a more rapid pace and this film is finally coming together.
2021 is turning into quite the year for DC films. The Batman will hit theaters on June 25, The Suicide Squad will follow on Aug. 6, and we’ll wrap up the year with Black Adam on Dec. 22.
It seems we’re going to be spending a lot of time at the multiplex in 2021!
