Stargirl will be pulling double duty it seems. It has been announced that the day after episodes premiere on DC Universe, you’ll find them airing on The CW network. And the day after that, you’ll find them on the CW app as well.
There were rumors in Oct. that the series may move to The CW completely, but this new arrangement was never mentioned as a possibility.
No reason has been given for this new plan, but it’s an interesting one to be sure. DC Universe spent some serious money on this series just in the form of talent. Brec Bassinger is playing Cortney Whitmore and she will be joined by Luke Wilson as her stepdad and eventual assistant, Joel McHale as Starman, Henry Tomas as Dr. Mid-Nite, Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Hourman, and on and on.
By splitting the series over two outlets, it will help with the costs to be sure.
No definitive launch date has been given for Stargirl as of yet, but it appears to be some time in the second quarter of 2020.
