It seems that Hawkman won’t be the only other DC character making their big-screen debut in the Black Adam movie.
Rumors have been popping up that Doctor Fate may also appear in the upcoming Dwayne Johnson movie, but not it appears that it goes even further. Johnson is currently out on the press circuit for Jumanji: The Next Level, and spoke with Screen Rant for some questions. Specifically, he was asked if we would see Black Adam and Shazam! fight in the film, and he said that wasn’t in the cards yet, but that’s “not to say Shazam isn’t on my radar. Of course Shazam is, but so is all of DC.”
The interviewer brought up the Justice Society of America, to which Johnson replied, “JSA. We will introduce you to that, the world to JSA.”
Well, at least the movie-going audiences. The JSA has appeared on television before, and will be featured extensively in the upcoming Stargirl series. But we’re very much on board to see as many DC characters as possible. Introducing the JSA now could open a lot of very interesting doors down the road for more solo movies and a JSA movie of its own.
We’re very much down with this idea.
Black Adam will hit theaters on Dec. 22, 2021.
