The Flash has a new release date and it’s July 1, 2022.

Warner Bros. has given a new release date to Ezra Miller’s long-gestating Flash movie. The last bit of major news we had received on this project was Andy Muschietti signing on to direct, and that followed on a week after Miller confirmed his dedication to getting the film done.

The film has had many potential release dates over the past few years, but one thing or another keeps derailing the project. The latest issue has been his commitment to making the third Fantastic Beasts film which begins filming in 2020.

This is the second DC film currently with a 2022 release date. Aquaman 2 is currently dated for Dec. 22, 2022. This follows on from the current plans for three films in 2021. Could a third DC film find its way into the schedule somehow for 2022? We’ll just have to see if Warner Bros. surprises us at some point.

For now, mark your calendars for July 1, 2022 for The Flash.
