While the holidays are fast approaching, that doesn’t mean that work hasn’t started on The Batman.
A new report has surfaced that construction is underway at Cardington Sheds in the U.K. for what is said to be a scene in The Batman centered around a cathedral.
So this week i have discovered….
1. They are filming parts of the Robert Pattinson Batman film at Cardington.
2. They are building a Cathedral in Shed 1 for the movie.
3. They are looking for about 500 extras to film there.#Batman pic.twitter.com/iYUx28zm0U— βπΈβπ»πβπΎππβ πβπΌπ»π (@CardingtonSheds) December 19, 2019
The sheds, which are actually hangers, have a long history of being featured in movies. Christopher Nolan has used them in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Inception. They have also served as the Rebel Base on Yavin 4 in both Star Wars: A New Hope and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Following on from the news that the Sheds were involved, the news turned to it being a funeral scene thanks to a posting by an extras agency. “Action Feature Film has a huge funeral scene filming in Feb in Cardington Bedfordshire!” The location matches up with where the Sheds are, as well as fitting in with the filming schedule of The Batman.

Considering the size of the sheds, don’t be surprised if a lot more of the film is shot there. We’ll be keeping an eye out for sure.
With filming is expected to begin this winter, it looks as though everything is beginning to come together for the long-gestating film.
