Those Michael B. Jordan Superman rumors have been circulating again, but this time the actor has something to say about them.
It seems as though every time we turn around rumors of Michael B. Jordan taking on the role of Superman pops up. Since at least Feb. 2014 these stories have been circulating. It showed up once again in 2018, and as recently as Nov. of this year. The Michael B. Jordan Superman rumors seem to be the one that just won’t die.
Now, sitting down with MTV for an interview about his new film Just Mercy, Jordan was asked about the rumors, and he addressed them, saying:
Honestly, I’ve been rumored to play Morpheus, to Superman, to Duck Tales reboot, to Power Rangers, and everything in between. So it’s like, I’m kinda used to rumors that I’m playing something. But, anything that I do dive in to has gotta be done the right way. It has to be full of authenticity.
“I’m a fan of comic books, you know?,” Jordan continued. “I understand, you know, the fans being upset at, “Oh no, why are they changing this and why are they changing that?” I would feel the same way about certain things. So just know, if I ever were to dabble in anything, it would be authentic and something I feel like people would really support.”
To be fair, Jordan is not wrong. His name comes up as a rumored possibility to just about every project in Hollywood as of late. It is only natural that it would come up in discussions – real or not – surrounding Superman as well.
Something tells us this won’t be the last time we hear these rumors.
