Both The Clown Prince of Crime and Catwoman are turning 80 this April and DC is celebrating the best way it knows how: with two oversized specials! 

With so many characters celebrating milestones this year, and it only makes sense for DC to pull out all the stops for them. The Joker and Catwoman will each be getting a 100-page one-shot this April. The books will include a number of fantastic writers and artists, and have eight variant covers featuring the characters through the decades. 

Joker 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular #1


This 100-page Super Spectacular will feature a number of stories covering everything from terror to humor by hit writers: Brian Azzarello, Lee Bermejo, Paul Dini, Denny O’Neil, Scott Snyder, Tom Taylor, Jock, José Luis García-López, Mikel Janín, James Tynion IV, Riley Rossmo, and more. 

The 8 variant covers featuring The Joker over the decades will be done by:

  • 1950s variant cover by David Finch
  • 1960s variant cover by Francesco Mattina
  • 1970s variant cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams

Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular #1

The book’s main story will be told by Ed Brubaker and artist Cameron Stewart as they return to their icon run in the 12-page story “The Art of Picking a Lock”. 

If Burbanker and Steward returning wasn’t enough to get you excited, Paul Dini will also be included with a story about “an exotic cat taxidermist who intends to add Catwoman to their collection!”
