It seems that the production crew behind The Batman has been looking for American cars around the area of Glasgow, and they aren’t being picky about the age.
According to the Daily Record, a message was posted to the Facebook group American Muscle Scotland seeking American cars from the 1980s to the present day. The post was placed there by NYPD Car Hire Scotland, saying that the cars would be used in The Batman.
The post has now been removed, but before it was there were posts offering up a Ram 1500, Cadillac Escalade EXT, a Ford Mustang and a Ford pick-up truck. It said if a vehicle was chosen it would need to be available Feb. 22 and 23 for filming.
No word on why the post was removed, but if it was real, it gives us any idea the film may be aiming for a sense of no particular time. Gotham City always seems to work best when it’s just its own thing not nailed down to any particular decade.
The Batman is currently filming at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden. It is then expected to move to Cardington Sheds on Feb. 12, and then on to Glasgow at the end of the month.
The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
