Another Batman movie, another round of wondering if we’ve been told the truth of who an actor is playing. This time around its Peter Sarsgaard’s turn.
As many will remember, during the production of The Dark Knight Rises, Marion Cotillard insisted she wasn’t playing Talia al Ghul. She did this repeatedly, but as we all know, in the end, yes, she was playing Talia al Ghul.
There have been many theories since Peter Saarsgard was rumored for The Batman that he would be playing Harvey Dent. When Warner Bros. finally released a press release listing all the cast he was listed as “District Attorney Gil Colson.” Seeing as this isn’t a character from the comics, it has done nothing to stop the speculation about him playing Dent.
During an interview with SiriusXM’s Jessica Shaw, the theories about him playing Dent came up. “Wow. Cool. Very interesting,” the actor commented as he looked towards the ceiling as if he was pondering the possibilities. He finally led the conversation away from the topic by praising his interactions with director Matt Reeves, but it certainly seems as though there may be something to the theories.

The Batman as a Pixies song?
Shortly after the discussion of the Dent theories, Saarsgard was asked about comments he made comparing The Batman to the music of alternative rock band the Pixies.
“It’s so raw in that way,” said Saarsgard. “So, that’s what I feel like about this. It is not sanitized. It’s got a raw power to it, a raw emotionality.”
Interpret that as you see fit, but it certainly sounds as though Reeves has quite the ride in store for us.
The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
