For those of you who were looking forward to Free Comic Book Day, it has been delayed for the time being.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the world, events are being postponed and canceled with growing frequency. On Wednesday of this week, it was announced that Free Comic Book Day would morph into Free Comic Book Month with new books arriving each week to allow retailers more flexibility in how they handled the event.
On Thursday, the plan changed yet again with Diamond Distribution now announcing that the event has been postponed as a whole and a new date will be announced at a later time.
“The severity and timing of the impact of the COVID-19 virus can’t be predicted with any certainty, but the safety of our retailer partners and comic book fans is too important to risk. As always, we appreciate your enthusiasm for and support of the comic industry’s best event and look forward to celebrating with you later in the Summer,” said Diamond Founder and CEO, Steve Geppi.
Amongst the 47 titles being released for the event, there are two DC titles included.
