In what seemed like an inevitable occurrence, San Diego Comic-Con canceled its plans for 2020.

The convention announced the news on its website on Friday and made it clear that there will be no event in 2020. It did state the event would return to the San Diego Convention Center July 22 to 25, 2021. The company also is responsible for WonderCon Anaheim and has announced that convention will now not return until March 26 to 28, 2021.

If you purchased tickets for San Diego Comic-Con 2020 you will have the option to transfer those to 2021 or request a refund. An email in regards to this should go out in the next week, and the default will be to transfer the tickets.

If you made a hotel reservation through the onPeak service, the company will be canceling all reservations and refunding all deposits automatically.

With the canceling of Comic-Con we’re sure to see some big changes to the promotion of many upcoming projects. We’ll keep you posted on any news of virtual events.
