The Batman release date has been pushed back nearly four months, moving from June 25, 2021 to Oct. 1, 2021.

Thanks to the coronavirus shutdown of production on nearly every movie, Warner Bros. has done some mass reshuffling of films. It is unclear when production will resume on films, but the studio is not going to take any chances and is already making some changes.

Oct. has been a good month for DC films recently with Oct. 4, 2019 being the release date of Joker. While it is definitely outside of the usual summer season, it’s still a date that can work as Joker proved by bringing in over $1 billion at the box office.

The Oct. 1, 2021 release date was previously occupied by Baz Luhrmann’s Evils Presley movie, that movie will now move to Nov. 5, 2021.

There is every chance the schedule will change again, but for now, The Batman will fly into theaters on Oct. 1, 2021.
