Wonder Woman 1984 earns PG-13 rating for violence and action

Despite a Wonder Woman 1984 release delay, the film has still received its rating as if it was coming out June 5.

While there is increasing success with R-rated comic book movies, it is not surprising that Wonder Woman has been kept to a more family-friendly PG-13 rating. The first film shared the same rating, and it feels pretty safe to say we were all happy with those results.

Rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence.

Parts of the country are beginning to reopen in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, but theater chains such as AMC Theaters is saying it will remain closed until there are more films to be shown. Currently, the first major release set to hit screens is Christopher Nolan’s Tenet on July 17, and Mulan on July 24 . We’ll have to wait and see if enough theaters are open by mid-August to make a release worth Warner Bros. time or if we may be hit with another delay.

Wonder Woman 1984 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on Aug. 14.
