Wonder Woman 1984 delayed to October

Once again the Wonder Woman 1984 release date has suffered another delay.

Following news that Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is moving from July 14 to July 31, the Wonder Woman 1984 release date was once again moved. The film was scheduled for Aug. 14, but that was just too close to Tenet‘s new date.

This, of course, is not the first delay for Wonder Woman 1984. The film was originally scheduled to release on Nov. 1, 2019. It was announced in Oct. 2018, however, that the film would push back seven months to the June 5, 2020 release date. At the time, Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Jeff Goldstein stated, “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

It was further delayed in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. At that time the date moved to Aug. 14 where it has resided until Friday evening.

Hopefully this is the last move that the film has to make, but as with anything, it could move at a moments notice.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on Oct. 2, 2020.
