As the shut down on the production of The Batman continues, fans still eagerly await news on the look for Catwoman. Thanks to a new interview, Zoe Kravitz has provided some information.

Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, The Batman shut down production in March, and that has left the release of new material in limbo. While we had seen the Batsuit and the Batmobile, Catwoman’s Castuit was nowhere to be seen.

“I think if this hadn’t happened, I think it would’ve come out by now,” Kravitz said while appearing on Josh Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad Confused.

How they arrived at the costume, however, sounds as if it was a group effort. “Matt Reeves is very much about process, the whole thing designing the suit began with conversations between me, Matt, and Jaqueline [Durran, costume designer]. We kinda birthed this thing together and there are references to the year of the comic we’re dealing with It’s cool!”

Following these comments, Kravitz was asked what specific comics she had read to prepare for the film and she mentioned Batman: Year One. We are not taking this as a for sure fact that her Catwoman costume is based on that work, but it is a definite possibility.

With the DC FanDome coming up in August, perhaps something of her costume will finally be shown at that event.

The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2021.
