Stargirl departs DC Universe for The CW for season 2

Stargirl fans can rejoice as the series has been renewed for season 2, but with a fairly big change in how you will watch it.

The CW announced on Monday that it has renewed Stargirl for season 2, but the network added that it would be the exclusive home of the series.

Originally announced as an original series for the DC Universe streaming service in 2018, in late 2019 it was announced the series would also air on The CW. The system was established where episodes would debut on DC Universe, air on The CW one day later, and finally make their way to the CW app the day after that. The new system will only retain the network airing and the CW app portion of the plan.

According to sources speaking to TV Line, there are no plans for the season 2 episodes to air on DC Universe at all.

What this mean for potential changes to the series remains to be seen.
