Warner Bros. unveils new The Suicide Squad logos

James Gunn has shared a new The Suicide Squad logo, and he did it in multiple languages as well.

DC FanDome may not be for another few weeks, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some new reveals up until then. Gunn took to his Twitter account on Wednesday to share the new set of logos which just happens to coincide with his birthday. “#TheSuicideSquad team just got me these amazing new official title treatments for my birthday.” said the director. “And the cast and I have so much more to show you guys on Aug 22 at DCFanDome.com. See you there!”

It’s no surprise the logo is very much keeping with the 1980s logo from the Ostrander run on the series. Gunn has been very clear that those comics were definitely his inspiration for the film.

The Suicide Squad cast features Margot Robbie, who is in theaters as Harley Quinn right now in Birds of Prey, as well as Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, and Jai Courtney, who are each reprising their roles from the first Suicide Squad movie. Joining them are Idris Elba, Taika Waititi, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, David Dastmalchian (as the Polka Dot Man), Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker (a Gunn stalwart), and Pete Davidson.

The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
