Robert Pattinson couldn’t hide his Batman audition from Christopher Nolan

It seems that Robert Pattinson is nowhere as good at keeping secrets as Bruce Wayne is.

Robert Pattinson is currently on a break from filming The Batman due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This also happens to coincide with the promotion for his upcoming film, Tenet, from director Christopher Nolan.

As Nolan directed The Dark Knight Trilogy of Batman films, he’s quite familiar with the secrecy around them, and that means you can’t hide much from him. Speaking with the Irish Times in support of the upcoming film, Pattinson shared a story of how Nolan was just too quick for him.

“It’s funny because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his movies,” Pattinson said. “And then I had to be really secretive about Batman stuff. So I had to lie to Chris about having to go for a screen test – I said I had a family emergency. And as soon as I said ‘it’s a family emergency’ he said: ‘You’re doing the Batman addition, aren’t you?’”

Well, clearly Nolan is a better detective than Pattinson is in real life. We’re sure his Batman will be a bit better at keeping secrets, though.

Currently, The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2021. Filming on the film is rumored to resume in Sept.
