One of the many rippling side effects of Coronavirus was the premature end of many ongoing television seasons this spring, with The CW’s The Flash as one of the many shows affected. The show ended a few episodes early, leaving a variety of plotlines dangling. The CW’s shows aren’t sent to resume until 2021, but the network released a trailer for The Flash season 7 ahead of the show for DC Fandome.
Much of this trailer is likely clips from the prematurely-concluded sixth season repurposed as teasers, but it leaves us with a good idea of the storylines we’ll be exploring to start the season. Flash is still losing his powers while Eva, the new Mirror Master, runs rampant. Her ability to travel anywhere in an instant highlights his dwindling speed that much more, but the team is also facing off against Godspeed and trying to create an artificial Speed Force for Barry. While all that is going on, Iris is tangling with her mirror personality in the Mirrorverse and Cecile Horton meets another empath who isn’t quite as selfless as she is.
That’s a lot to go on for the start of The Flash season 7 even without any substantial new footage.
The CW isn’t talking release dates just yet, but we’re expecting to see the show hitting television in early 2021.
