Arrow has come to an end, and it seems that means it’s time for a change to the name of the entire universe.

While the name “Arrowverse” was created organically by fans as the number of series grew, the name no longer truly fits. Instead of waiting on fans to come up with another name, The CW has come up with its own replacement, The CWverse.

The new trailer shows off all the remaining series – Batwoman, Black Lightning, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, and Supergirl – and the upcoming Superman & Lois and the changeover in the group name.

The name is somewhat puzzling as Crisis on Infinite Earths clearly showed properties such as Lucifer (Netflix), Titans (DC Universe), and Doom Patrol (DC Universe/HBO Max) are also parts of the larger story. How they fit into a universe named for one network is a rather large question moving forward should there be any further crossovers.

As with any name change such as this, it will ultimately be up to the fans how it is referred to online. We’ll just have to wait and see how fans accept the new name.
