The future of the DC Universe service has been a bit of a mystery, but it seems we’re finally going to learn what the plans are for it.
Following the news that Doom Patrol has been renewed for season 3 and will move to HBO Max, there were a lot of questions about what will happen with DC Universe. With the news that Stargirl is moving to The CW, it is clear things won’t be the same for the DC service.
Jim Lee took to Twitter to congratulate Doom Patrol on its renewal, and added, “Stay tuned next week for big news about @thedcuniverse and it’s exciting future!”

One would imagine that the service will be pivoting to being comics only and be similar to the Marvel Unlimited service.
There are still two outstanding series that we don’t know the plans for yet. Titans season 3 is moving forward, but we don’t know where we’ll be watching it as of yet. And Young Justice: Phantoms is coming in 2022, and we haven’t heard where it will be going as of yet. We assume that the two remaining series move to HBO Max, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Why the news wasn’t shared at DC FanDome is a bit of a mystery, but we’re just glad to know that some definitive information is finally on the way.
