It seems more classic DC characters will be heading to Stargirl as the roles of Eclipso and The Shade have been cast.
Eclipso is not a big surprise for Stargirl season 2 as we saw Cindy steal his diamond in season 1. Nick Tarabay (The Expanse) has been tapped to take on the regular role of the ancient entity. Meanwhile, Jonathan Cake (The Affair) will recur as The Shade.
“Eclipso is so terrifying. I’ve always loved the character, and he’s a very different antagonist or villain than the [Injustice Society of America],” Geoff Johns said. He went on to add that The Shade is “the most powerful of them all, and very threatening because no one knows exactly what he wants.”
Season 2 will mark the first full season specifically done for The CW. Season 1 was an original series for DC Universe, but with that service shifting gears to be a comics-only service, The CW will take over the series. Streaming rights for the series will be moving to HBO Max.
Stargirl season 1 met with a lot of praise, and hopefully that can continue with season 2.
