The upcoming Peacemaker spinoff from The Suicide Squad will have another familiar face in it beyond John Cena.
There hasn’t been much information about the upcoming James Gunn Peacemaker series for HBO Max since it was first announced. While we know it will be eight episodes, and that John Cena will return as the titular character, there hasn’t been much more information.
Finally, we know that Steve Agee, one of Gunn’s most used actors, will appear in the series. Agee will play two roles in the film, the voice of King Shark and John Economos, the warden of Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary, it will be the latter that he will play in the series.
This still doesn’t confirm the time frame of the series. Gunn has made it clear that the existence of this series should not be seen as a confirmation that Peacemaker will survive the film, which the director has made clear he had permission to kill anyone he wanted.
The question this does bring up is if there is any chance that Viola Davis may appear as Amanda Waller. Economos works with her when it comes to Task Force X, so there may be a good chance that Waller may make a quick cameo in the series if not something larger.
The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
