It seems that Zack Snyder still has some surprises left in store for all of us once we finally have a chance to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Snyder appeared on the League of Mayhem stream for an interview. While the lengthy interview covered a lot of topics, one of the most notable moments came when the director shared a glimpse of the design for Martian Manhunter from Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Sadly it was just from an image on his phone, but it’s certainly a welcome look. (If by some chance you’ve not seen the design sketched before now, this should be considered a spoiler.)
From the image it appears he has a slightly elongated head. The costume appears to fully cover him as opposed to the classic comic look, but the red “X” is clearly visible.
It has long been known that Martian Manhunter would appear in his Martian form in the film. It would be revealed in the story that Calvin Swanwick (Harry Lennix) is J’onn J’onzz, and that he would take on the form of Martha Kent (Diane Lane) in one scene as well.
There is every chance some of this may change by the time the mini-series hits HBO Max, but that was in the original storyboarded plans and at least portions of it were filmed during the original film shoot.
No word yet as to a release date for Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
