Patty Jenkins issues statement on Wonder Woman 1984 release

Warner Bros.

Director Patty Jenkins has issued a statement about the news that Wonder Woman 1984 will be heading to HBO Max on Christmas Day.

“THE TIME HAS COME,” emphasized Jenkins. “At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give over everything else. We truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season.”

“Watch it IN THEATERS , where it is made to do so (check out the great work theaters have done to make it so!),” added Jenkins. And available in the safety of your home on HBO MAX where it is not. Happy holidays to all of you. We hope you enjoy our film as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Jenkins had made her desire for the film to receive a full theatrical release clear, but sadly the Coronavirus just shows no signs of letting up any time soon.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters and HBO Max on Dec. 25.
