As he promised during CCXP 2019, James Gunn appeared during the 2020 edition to talk about The Suicide Squad, and he had some exciting news to share.
While Gunn did not share many new details on the film’s story, he did share one important piece of information. The Suicide Squad cut is locked, and now it’s all down to sound, visual effects, and the other little details that need to be wrapped up.
Gunn then welcomed some cast members to join him including Alice Braga (Sol Soria), Idris Elba (Bloodsport), John Cena (Peacemaker), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher 2), Nathan Fillion (T.D.K.), and Flula Borg (Javelin). All of them discussed the scale of the film, and just how massive it was to work on.
Not everyone seems to have a great time, however. John Cena has a special message for fans that he would appreciate it if we all pay attention to him eating an empanada in one scene of the film. It seems that Cena thought it should be a continuous shot and that meant for each take he would need to eat the entire empanada. Unfortunately, Gunn decided it was the shot he needed until the 31st take. So when you see the movie, just remember that when you see Peacemaker eating an empanada, that is actually his 31st of the day.
Other: John Cena as Peacemaker on the set of The Suicide Squad from DC_Cinematic
That looks like a man that has had enough empanadas for the day.
The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters and HBO Max on Aug. 6, 2021.
