It has been some time since we’ve heard anything new about a Birds of Prey sequel and it doesn’t appear that will change any time soon.
While it may be hard to believe with everything that has happened this year, Birds of Prey was released in 2020. No one will blame you if it feels like it was a few years ago. With that in mind, it has been a bit since we’ve even heard chatter of a sequel, although director Cathy Yan said she had plans in case it was to happen.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in a new in-depth interview, Harley Quinn herself, Margot Robbie, has shared that it could be a while before we hear anything. Asked for an update, Robbie said, “I don’t know. Nothing imminent at this stage, nothing worth mentioning.”
Despite the potential lack of a Birds of Prey sequel, we are, of course, not done with seeing her rendition of Harley Quinn on the big screen. She also stars in the upcoming The Suicide Squad from James Gunn. Should Harley survive that outing with Task Force X, then the questions of her next adventure become a larger question, but for now, we know we have one more live-action adventure with the former psychiatrist.
