
Wonder Woman 1984 is coming to HBO Max on Dec. 25, but you won’t need to stay up late to see it debut.
While most streaming services debut new content at midnight Pacific, HBO Max is going to buck tradition with Wonder Woman 1984. The streaming service announced on Monday that the debut will take place at 9am Pacific/12pm Eastern on Dec. 25.
In a follow-up tweet, HBO Max reminded everyone that the film will be on the service for just 31 days, and that there are no extra costs associated with it above your subscription fee. The film will also be hitting theaters in the U.S. on the same day.
Wonder Woman 1984 debuted this past weekend in 32 territories and took in $38.6 million. It’s unclear how the film will perform domestically with the combination of factors such as theater closures, the continuing pandemic, and it being available in homes. We’ll just have to wait and see, but it is clear that this film will not be measured via the traditional methods.
Wonder Woman 1984 will release in theaters and on HBO Max in the U.S. on Dec. 25. Select international locations saw the film released on Dec. 16.
