You’ve heard the phrase “two great things that taste great together.”
Peanut butter and jelly.
Chocolate and peanut butter.
Peanut butter and marshmallow creme.
Peanut butter tastes good with lots of stuff, is what I’m saying.
But it’s not all about food and taste, either, at least in the literal sense. Scooby-Doo and Batman are also two great tastes that taste great together. Don’t believe me? Well, remember that time they starred together in a movie? It. Ruled.
And DC Comics will be delivering just that with Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries, an all new digital-first series that’s due this March.
A sort of spiritual successor to the excellent Scooby-Doo Team-Up series, this all-ages book will follow the Caped Crusader and the Mystery, Inc. team as they encounter all sorts of hijinks and shenanigans. I mean, the very first story involves traveling back in time to Batman’s first year of fighting crime, which is sheer perfection in my book.
With an all-star creative team that includes Sholly Fisch, Ivan Cohen, Dario Brizuela, and Randy Elliott, this will no doubt be top-tier storytelling. You can find out more details on the DC blog.
The first digital chapter will release on March 27, followed by a physical issue collecting the first two chapters on April 13.
