It seems another Robin may be flying into Gotham as Jay Lycurgo has reportedly been cast as Tim Drake in Titans season 3.

Production on Titans season 3 has been underway in Toronto for some time now, but additions to the cast have been few and far between this year. While we’ve learned of major changes such as Jason Todd becoming Red Hood, and the casting of Barbara Gordon, there hasn’t been quite the rash of new characters added this year such as we had before season 2.

According to Lance Ausfresser of the Titans Group, however, at least one new character is on the way with Jay Lycurgo reportedly set to play Tim Drake.

If Lycurgo looks familiar, it’s because he also appears in The Batman trailer as the “crying thug.” It seems the actor will be moving from one version of Gotham City to another.

This will be the third incarnation of Robin to appear on the series with Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) having moved on to being Nightwing, and Jason Todd (Curran Walters) making the transition to Red Hood this season. Perhaps this is will be what motivates Batman to take in another ward.

In the comics, Tim Drake was introduced in 1989 in Batman #436. He would be the third sidekick to take on the mantle of Robin before eventually graduating to a new persona as Red Robin.

Titans season 1 and 2 are currently streaming on HBO Max. No announcement has been made to a season 3 debut date as of yet.
