HBO Max has a second Batman-themed project in the works, and this time it’s a podcast falling on the comedic side of things.

It seems that HBO Max is going all in on the world of Gotham. The streaming service already has a Gotham police series in the works, and now it’s heading into the world of audio with a comedy.

A comedic podcast entitled Batman: The Audio Adventures is heading to HBO Max some time in 2021. The new series hails from Dennis McNicholas (Saturday Night Live) who both wrote and directed the multi-episode series under Warner Bros.’ Blue Ribbon Content division. McNicholas was joined on the project by Jon Berg as executive producer, and Angela Patrella as co-producer.

The new podcast is separate from the multi-year deal that DC recently struck with Spotify for a series of podcasts.

Jeffrey Wright is currently playing Jim Gordon in the upcoming The Batman, but for this new project he will be donning the cowl and dishing out the justice. He will be joined by Chris Parnell, Melissa Villaseñor, Seth Meyers, Brent Spiner, John Leguizamo, Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Moynihan, Kenan Thompson, Rosario Dawson, Jason Sudeikis, Alan Tudyk, Heidi Gardner, Brooke Shields, Paul Scheer, Tim Meadows, Fred Armisen, Ray Wise, Ben Rodgers, Katie Rich, Pete Schultz, Paula Pell, Toby Huss, and McNicholas. No word yet on who will be playing what roles, but with that lineup it sounds as though we will be hearing a lot of our favorite characters.

No word on the exact release date as of yet, but we will be keeping an eye out for it.
