Batman Beyond director says fans should demand a revival

Could Terry McGinnis once again don the cowl in a Batman Beyond revival? Director Andrea Romano thinks so if the fans can get behind it.

Following rumors of a Batman: The Animated Series revival, fans are curious if the same treatment could be applied to Batman Beyond. Speaking at a Batman Beyond table read during IGN Fan Fest recently, series voice director Andrea Romano thinks that could happen if the fans were to get behind it.

“It will depend on the fans asking, and asking, and asking for it until [show owner] Warner Bros. would be foolish not to,” Romano said. “So they have to begin a campaign of sorts and just let Warner Bros. know that that’s what they want. Because we would like to make it, it would be great fun — we’re all still around, we’re all still available, everybody’s still doing beautiful work. So yes please, and thank you.”

Batman Beyond launched in Jan. 1999 and ran until Dec. 2001 for a total of 52 episodes. The series followed a teenager named Terry McGinnis (Will Friedle) as he became the next generation of Batman. Bruce Wayne (Kevin Conroy) served as his mentor and provided him will all of the gadgets he needed to carry out his crusade against crime in a futuristic Gotham City.

We would certainly be up for more adventures set in the future with this crew. Now if we can just get Warner Bros. to listen.
