John Cena is continuing his virtual press tour where he appears in every interview in his full Peacemaker costume.
While the press tour hasn’t begun yet for The Suicide Squad or the Peacemaker TV series, Cena is promoting his two new books: Be a Work in Progress: And Other Things I’d Like to Tell My Younger Self and Do Your Best Every Day to Do Your Best Every Day. Always a showman, Cena is taking the opportunity to include Peacemaker by wearing the full costume in every interview.
Colbert did ask Cena about the character and how he will appear in both the film and television series. Cena also pointed out that he was sitting in the single-wide trailer set that is Peacemaker’s home.
As to Cena’s wearing the costume in every interview, director James Gunn has made it clear this is not something he has requested. In a recent tweet he said, The fact that [John Cena] is doing every interview he does in his Peacemaker costume is cracking me up. I swear I’m not asking him to do this!”
We don’t care how this has come about; we’re just enjoying an actor being this committed to their role.
The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters and HBO Max on Aug. 6, 2021.
