The cast for Shazam: Fury of the Gods has gained another villain as Lucy Liu has joined the cast as Kalypso.
It seems there will be more than one villain aiming to take down Shazam and his family in the new film. Lucy Liu (Elementary, Why Women Kill) will be playing Kalypso who happens to be the sister to Helen Mirren’s Hespera. Both of them are daughters of the god Atlas.
If there are more gods remains to be seen, but it certainly seems that Shazam! will have his hands full this time around.
Zachary Levi will be returning as Shazam! for Shazam: Fury of the Gods, as will Asher Angel as his teenage alter ego, Billy Batson. David F. Sandberg is once again serving as director and he will be working from a script by Henry Gayden.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods is currently scheduled for release on June 2, 2023.
