Work on Aquaman 2 appears to be finally picking up some steam as we have a new casting rumor.
According to a report from Deadline, Pilou Asbaek has joined the cast of Aquaman 2 in an unknown role. Asbaek is best-known for playing Euron Greyjoy in Game Of Thrones.
Warner Bros. offered no comment on the report.
This is the first report we’ve had on the highly anticipated sequel in some time. With the release date set for Dec. of 2022 rapidly approaching, and a lot of post-production sure to be required, word beginning now feels logical.
James Wan will be returning to direct one again, with Peter Safran on board to produce. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is writing the script.
The original film went on to earn $1.14 billion globally, so expect the sequel to go even bigger in terms of the scope of the story.
Aquaman 2 is set to hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2022.
