After some doubt was cast on his involvement by the actor himself, Michael Keaton has been confirmed to be playing Batman in The Flash.

It was first rumored in June 2020 that Keaton would once again be playing Batman in the upcoming The Flash. As of Oct. 2020 he still wasn’t confirming it, but then in March of this year he acknowledged it was possible, but COVID may stop it from happening.

As of Monday, it appears that everything is back on. Keaton’s talent representation, ICM Partners, confirmed to The Wrap that Keaton will indeed be appearing as Batman in The Flash.

Director Andy Muschietti revealed on Monday that production had finally begun on the long-delayed film.

The Flash is quickly assembling a massive cast. Miller is signed on to play the Scarlet Speedster. He will be joined by with Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West Michael Keaton  and Ben Affleck will be playing their respective versions of Batman. The most recent addition was Ron Livingston taking over the role of Henry Allen due to Billy Crudup having a scheduling conflict. Andy Muschietti (IT) is directing from a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco are producing, while Marianne Jenkins will serve as an executive producer.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2022.
