The Flash is reportedly speeding into Scotland so that Glasgow and Edinburgh can double for Tim Burton’s version of Gotham City.
It seems that The Flash may be heading to the Northern parts of the U.K. for additional exterior filming in June. According to a report from the Daily Record, both Glasgow and Edinburgh will be used to recreate the feel of Tim Burton’s version of Gotham City from 1989’s Batman and 1992’s Batman Returns.
An anonymous source told the Daily Record, “It’s really exciting for DC Comic fans that film crews will be back in town. It’s great news for Glasgow and Edinburgh that once again the outstanding architecture will be showcased in such a big film.”
Warner Bros. is no stranger to using Glasgow as a double for Gotham City. Portions of the upcoming The Batman were filmed there as well, specifically the Necropolis.
The Flash is currently filming in London, and it is unclear when it will be heading North outside of the general time frame of “June.”
The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2022.
