Netflix has released a Sandman behind-the-scenes video that gives us our first look at the upcoming series.
Nearly two years since The Sandman was greenlit at Netflix, we’re finally getting our first look at the long-gestating project. There have been numerous attempts to turn Sandman into a movie or TV series, but at long last we have tangible proof that it is happening.
Thus far it’s looking to be pretty comic accurate, and we can’t wait to see what all of the cast looks like in makeup.
The cast includes Tom Sturridge (Morpheus/Dream), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Death), Mason Alexander Park (Desire), Donna Preston (Despair), Gwendoline Christie (Lucifer), Boyd Holbrook (The Corinthian), Razane Jammal (Lyta Hall), Joely Richardson (Ethel Cripps), Niamh Walsh (Young Ethel Cripps), David Thewlis (John Dee), Kyora (Rose Walker), Patton Oswalt (Matthew the Raven), Stephen Fry (Gilbert), Jenna Coleman (Johanna Constantine), Sandra James Young (Unity Kincaid), Asim Chaundry (Abel), Sanjeev Bhaskar (Cain), Vivienne Acheampong (Lucienne), and Charles Dance (Roderick Burgess). And to think we still don’t know who will be playing Delerium, Destiny, and the lost member of the Endless (who we won’t give away here if you haven’t read the series).
Still no word on a potential release date for the first season of The Sandman.
